Turf is a location-based game using GPS technology, which requires you to go to the physical location of the virtual zones in order to take them. Try to take as many zones as you can to rack up points, earn medals, level up and climb the leaderboards!

There are lots of things to do and places to see when playing Turf - will you become a unique zone hunter, a competitive player climbing the leaderboards, or do you simply want some extra motivation when exercising? Turf is a fun game for everyone, regardless of age or ambitions! Welcome to an amazing community and a fun hobby!

Do you want to support the Turf project and get some cool extra features in return? By supporting Turf you will help the game evolve and in return unlock the Supporter option in the menu with extra options to customize your in-game character, view personal statistics and get a better view over the league-based leaderboards. More features are being added over time, which makes it even more rewarding to become a Supporter! By opening the Supporter page in the menu (the thunderbolt symbol), you will get prompted to buy one or more Supporter months. A Supporter month is a collection of 30 Supporter days. Each Supporter day you will gain access to the extra Supporter features. You can view how many days you have left from the Supporter option in the in-game menu. You can also donate one or more Supporter days to other players in the game via the website if you are feeling extra generous! Buying Supporter months is always a one-time purchase, and not a subscription plan. Feel free to buy as many Supporter months as you like, thanks for supporting the Turf project!

Turf consists of monthly rounds, which span around 30 days each. At the end of a round, the status of all zones is reset to neutral and the round points of all players are also reset. The players who reach the top placement on the leaderboards at the end of a round are rewarded with the awesome Region medal, Country medal and/or the bronze, silver or gold medal, depending on the placement in the region, country and globally. The community regularly also offer real prices along with the in-game rewards. You can view the start dates for upcoming rounds from the event calendar option in the in-game menu. None of your progress is lost at the end of a round, it's only the points related to the round and the ownership of the zones that is reset. This is to allow a fresh start for all players regularly and to create a fair gaming environment for everyone. You can still view your performance during the round in the monthly round report and on the third-party statistics page Warded. The start of a new round is on the first Sunday of every month at 12.00 PM Central European Time. You can see the translated time for your time zone from within the app, by checking out the event option from the meny (the calendar symbol). The previous round ends at the same instant a new round begins.

100 million takeovers was reached after 12 years, in January 2022.

Andreas Pantesjö and Simon Sikström are the original creators of the game and the entire concept.
