We have now drawn the winners in the Christmas competition. From the 1211 supporters, 315 joined by taking a zone with the new train station attribute.
The winners were randomly selected and they are:
finnclipper, Vintentina and Knut51
The winners will be contacted by email on how to collect their prices.
Even if you aren’t one the winners, we still hope you enjoyed the zones you took.
We wish you all a Happy New Year
What could be better than releasing a new feature in Christmas time!? (although a day late)
As many of you have already noticed, some zones have changed, and new similar have been created all over the world (Ok, with focus in the Nordics, as usual...)
Huh, still don´t know what's up?
It's time to release a new zone attribute!
From today, it will be possible to get on track and get all those new TRAIN STATION zones!
Of course, you might problably have taken some or several of them already, but now you know where they are in order to be able to get them!
As always, some of you might wonder why a zone has the attribute, and some does not have the attribute. When it comes to train stations, we have tried to follow the definition of a Train Station set up by the Swedish Transport Administration (Transportverket). This means that not ALL places where it is possible to jump on and off a train is a train station, or 'Driftplats' as defined by Transportverket. If you are not sure if a zone should be a train station zone or not, please ask the community, on social media, or file an issue in our issue system if you are really sure something is missing here!
Anyhow, to celebrate the new attribute and the fact Santa Claus is somewhere turfing in the sky, we are happy to announce a COMPETITION with nice prices!
In co-operation with the Swedish train operating company SJ we will give away no less than THREE FIRST CLASS ROUND-TRIP TICKETS with any of SJ's high speed trains, to be used during 2018.
How to participate:
This Christmas competition is for supporters only. If you are not already a supporter. Please visit turfgame.com/info -> Supporter for further reading.
Take a train station zone during December 30th (UTC time, CET-1). It does not matter if you are first, take hundreds of them or take it just before a new day rises. Just take it whenever you like during the day, and you will get ONE lottery ticket.
Winners will be announced on New Year's Eve.
Happy weekend from the Turf Crew!
(The attributes are so far only visible on turfgame.com)
No individual can do everything, but everyone can do something! And you did!
The last donations are now coming in, and together we have donated more than 40.000 SEK!
Thank you all for joining in and taking zones for this great cause!
Winners and records
During the summer of 2012, Loreen won Eurovision, Spain won the European championchip and London arranged the olympics. Another big occasion was that the turfing queen Kingenin claimed her first gold medal, now 5 years later she has claimed her sixth. For a long time Kingenin and Mazarin were legends with their 4 gold medals each but now Kingenin is unchallenged on the throne. This time 1 067 183 points by 5 846 takes was required. But there was no easy path, just behind her we find Pumac from Göteborg who reached 1 016 130 points by 5 931 takes. Exciting! Pumac was in the lead for a time in the early weeks of this round but this time he must admit himself defeated. At third place with 739 322 points by 4 447 takes we find viðvarandi from Umeå.
Nice job everyone!
Have you noticed some zone changes lately? I believe something fuzzy is going on. If you thinking of zones near train stations I think you're something on track. Here is a nice pixelated spoiler for you:
The new design of the app is ongoing and last time I heard something from the developers they would begin to test the new design this winter.
It is time for the yearly music aid in Sweden. This year the glass cage of celebrities has been placed in the zone Advisehouse in Umeå. Turf has their own purse this year as well. The turfers who sign up will give a certain amount of money for each take during the period 11-17 december. So if you are not signed up for the collection yet you can still contribute by taking as many zones as you can, maybe we will see Bont in the live cam taking about 400 zones/day as usual! Or why not sign up for the collection yourself? Here is the link, unfortunately all info is in Swedish: Music Aid
This years theme is "Children are not for sale", aiming to prevent child prostitution in the world.
Thats the last round mail for this year, see you next year!
Stöd Musikhjälpen genom att ta zoner!
I år hjälper vi Turfare Musikhjälpen med att göra världen till en bättre plats.
Årets tema är: BARN ÄR INTE TILL SALU
The zone type images also needed a makeover. Here is a selection from the new set.
